Consortium

The Consortium is run by a Coordinating Committee with the assistance of five Working Groups and communication research staff at George Mason University. The Committee includes at least one representative from each Working Group, and at least one representative from each of the following types of organizations: a university, a state agency, and non-governmental organization. The responsibilities of the five Working Groups are described below.

Impacts Working Group

Develop short lists of most important content for communicators to convey, and advise on topic-relevant science and policy information for inclusion in audience research.

Mitigation Working Group

Develop short lists of most important content for communicators to convey, and advise on topic-relevant science and policy information for inclusion in audience research

Adaptation Working Group

Develop short lists of most important content for communicators to convey, and advise on topic-relevant science and policy information for inclusion in audience research

Audience Research Working Group

Advise in the development of research instruments and subsequent messaging, and form recommendations to the coordinating committee regarding the yearly strategic communication objective and associated message platform

Outreach Working Group

Identify and deliver resources, including those developed by the Consortium at large, and its individual working groups. Organize online tools and resources. Evaluate outreach activities, mechanisms, and messages.
